2017 - 2018 TTL Blueprint for Success
Posted Jul 7, 2017

Dear Club Technical Directors, President’s, Registrar’s, Team Coaches, & Managers,

We hope that you are enjoying your summer, but it is going quickly, so we wanted to take the opportunity to welcome you to the new and improved 2017 Timbers & Thorns OYSA Fall Leagues.

This past year, all the clubs in our territory have played together with OYSA having their highest number of registered players ever.  This has allowed our seeding committee to create balanced brackets and levels of play for very successful leagues.

The Timbers-Thorns together with OYSA, work hard each year to improve our league offerings to our members.  This fall we have attempted to listen to the Technical Directors and have reduced the traditional number of fall games by 2, for both the premier and non-premier divisions.  We have reduced the registration cost accordingly.  This move is in accordance with US Soccer’s Best Practices and is designed to allow clubs to spread out their games, which will in turn reduce stress on young players bodies.

In an attempt to continually improve our leagues, we are including a league blueprint document (click here to open), which outlines league structure and processes for the upcoming year.  We hope that you are able to share it within your club.  We will continually evaluate and update the blueprint with input at the League Competitive Committee level.  If your club has any input you would like discussed, please feel free to have your Technical Director or President email me at prior to the next committee meeting in mid-August.

Best wishes and we look forward to seeing you on the field this fall!

Mike Smith
League President
